With many thanks to Paul Cannon, who has offered the following identification: For a Nuremberg jetton of the same type see BH-33DAE4. The bust is a representation of the English Queen Anne. The reverse depicts a large church. The Mitchiner reference indicates that it was made by Lazarus Gottlieb Lauffer between 1702 and 1709. A worn and incomplete post-medieval Nuremberg copper-alloy jetton of Hans Krauwinckel II (fl. 1586-1635) of the 'Rose / orb' type. Its incompleteness derives from an irregular central perforation perhaps made to convert this into a jewellery item. This example has the same obverse die flaw as Mitchiner 1522.
