Flat, circular disc of copper alloy somewhat resembling a coin-blank, covered on one side by a thick layer of silver/tin coloured material. This white metal could be a droplet of speculum metal, which is the high-tin bronze that is used to make Roman mirrors. This is more likely than a tin coating which wouldn't normally be this thick, or silver metal, which normally corrodes to look either dark brown and waxy, or pale lilac and powdery and/or vitrified ceramic mixed with fuel.

Folded rectangular sheet of copper alloy. The exterior of the sheet has a dark-brown patina, and is covered with large patches of a thick-blue coloured corrosion product. The blue material is probably not enamel but either azurite (possible copper corrosion product) or vivianite (an iron-phosphorus compound that is common in objects from cess pits and similar deposits).

Broad period: EARLY MEDIEVAL

Bun shaped lead weight. The weight is circular in plan and decorated with possibly three symbols evenly spaced around the side wall. The surface of the weight is worn and consequently the symbols are hard to read, but look somewhat like the runes ansur, dagar and opila. The 'opila' rune looks like a fish in profile, and the addition of a vertical line down where the gill would be may mean that this is a picture rather than a rune. The object is of uncertain date and there is no further provenance details other than 'Lincolnshire' to aid identification.
