A post-medieval copper-alloy French jetton issued probably under Charles IX of France from the Chambre des Comptes. Allegorical type inscribed PIETATE ET IVSTITIA, dating c. 1560-1574. Mint uncertain. See Feuardent (pp. 134-136) for example no. 1742 and Mitchiner (1991, 1011).
The jetton is in a very worn condition, and measures 29.0mm in diameter, it has a thickness of 0.7mm, and weighs 3.4g. It has been pierced through the obverse at around 10 o'clock on the obverse, corresponding to around 7 o'clock on the reverse.
