A copper alloy finger ring of probable post-medieval date. The ring measures 22.2mm in diameter, 8.5mm in width, 1.1mm in thickness and weighs 3.04g. It has been made from a cast strip which has been bent into a ring and the ends soldered together. The slightly convex central section is bounded by two ridges on each side. The central section is decorated with tiny stamped annulets. Roman or Medieval hinge/strapping, 60mm long, 21mm wide and 3.5mm thick. The object is in fair condition with a green/black patina and weighs 33.43grams. It consists of a rectangular sectioned band which turns at a right angle three quarters of the way down its length. The angled section has a raised, rounded edge which may have traces of a pattern on its upper surface. Inside this is a centrally placed single iron rivet or nail 5mm in diameter. An incomplete cast copper alloy oval buckle frame with ornate outside edge and incomplete buckle plate.
