A Medieval to post-Medieval leg from a cast copper-alloy cooking vessel (c. 1250-c. 1650 AD). The object is sub-circular in cross-section and has a small portion of the body of the vessel at one end. The other end is in the form of an irregular break. It has a mid-green patina which is overlain in places with a black substance, probably consolidated soot. 54.64 x 17.42 x 16.49mm. Maximum diameter of leg: 11.28mm. Weight: 42.06g. Similar legs were common on all types of cooking vessels, cauldrons, skillets, posnets and ewers. A Medieval to post-Medieval leg/foot from a cast copper-alloy cooking vessel (c. 1250-c. 1650 AD). The object is sub-rectangular in plan and cross-section throughout its length. It has a flat undecorated rear face. At the front there is a central vertical rib. The base is rounded and uneven and the top is in the form of an old oblique break. A complete and undecorated Medieval copper alloy-sheet sub-spherical bell (c. 1250-c. 1450 AD). This bell is formed of two hemispheres joined at the centre by a circumferential raised joining rib. It is circular in plan and sub-oval in side view. At the apex of the upper hemisphere it has a suspension loop formed from a copper-alloy strip which has been joined and soldered to the bell. The lower hemisphere has a sound slit with an integral sound hole at each end. There is a free moving corroded spheroid iron sound-pea within the bell. The front plate of a two-piece open-work tongue-shaped chape. It is convex at the front and hollow at the rear. At the top, its maximum width is 28.69mm. From the top the sides taper inwards to the pointed base where there is a rounded knop. Above the knop, a central vertical rib is decorated with evenly spaced oblique grooves. An incomplete Medieval cast copper-alloy umbonate quatrefoil book mount of Howsam type B.1 (1300-1400 AD) The central part is domed at the front, with a small solid pellet at the apex, and concave at the rear. Two of the arms are largely missing. The surviving two arms are similar and have trefoil terminals which are both pierced for a separate rivet. Part of an iron rivet survives in one of the holes. A fragment of a Medieval cast copper-alloy annular brooch (c. 1200-c. 1400 AD). This fragment is part of the frame and part of the constriction bar for a pin. The frame is moulded at the front and flat at the rear. At the front decoration consists of four large pellets within annulets with an oblique band between two of them. A Medieval cast copper-alloy unifaced coin weight for a noble (1412-1464 AD). The upper face depicts a ship with a central mast and standing rigging. The design and size of this coin weight are consistent with it being for a noble, 108 grains (Withers & Withers: 1995: 18-19; 68). Both faces and also the multi faceted-edges have been filed. Diameter: 16.27mm; thickness: 4.21mm. Weight: 5.93g. (91.4 grains).
