A copper alloy French jetton, struck during the reign of Charles V or VI (AD 1373-1415). A jetton is a type of reckoning counter and were used across Europe for c.400 years. This example bears the inscription AVE MARIA GRACIA PL(ENA), which translates to "Hail Mary, full of grace". Mitchiner (1988) p179-182, no. 462-480.

Medieval French copper alloy jetton of the shield of france ancien type, mis-struck with one blank side, shield of France ancien / blank. Similar obverse are illustrated in Mitchiner (1988:172), no. 433-434b who suggests they were issued under Charles VI (1380-1422) and dated to the early 1380's during the process of coinage and jetton reformation. A copper-alloy Nuremberg jetton, Post Medieval in date (AD1500-1700). A Rose and Orb jetton but too worn to identify further. The obverse depicts three crowns alternating with three lis arranged around a central rose. The reverse depicts an Imperial orb surmounted by a cross patty within a three arched tressure. Both legends are illegible. The edges are worn and damaged. The jetton is typical of Nuremberg jettons from the 16th century. Weight: 0.6g. Diameter: 21.23mm. Identified from notes and photograph. A complete hammered copper alloy sterling bust English jetton, AD 1310-14. The obverse is worn. The jetton mimics the silver penny of the period - Edward II, Class 11. The obverse shows a forward facing crowned bust with the conventional legend position occupied by a ring of pellets. The reverse has a solid long cross with six pellets in each quadrant with a ring of pellets around the outside edge of the flan. Similar examples are in Mitchener (1988:100) nos 118-120. Diameter: 20.21mm. Weight: 1.6g. Identified from photograph and notes. No further information available.

A copper-alloy 'Dolphin' jetton, struck in south eastern France and dating from the 14th century (Mitchiner 1988: 182-184). Dimensions: 24.2mm diameter, 0.8mm thick. Weight: 2.6g. According to Mitchiner (ibid: 182), 'The dolphin ('dauphin') was (a) traditional badge of the Counts of Alban, Dauphins of Viennois'. Mitchiner's suggested date range for such jettons is c. 1373-c. 1415.

A complete struck/hammered copper alloy jetton of Charles VI (1380-1422) or Charles VII (1422-1461), struck as one of the stock issues in Tournai between c.1415 and 1497 AD. The jetton consists of a Shield of France jetton, issued throughout the 15th Century. The jetton is badly struck.
