A cast copper-alloy hinge of Medieval or Post-medieval date, probably from a small box. It is complete and one side is butterfly shaped and the other is sub-triangular, both are flat. The butterfly-shaped side has three circular holes for seperately cast rivets which are present. The other has two holes for rivets which are also present. There is no decoration. It measures 25.88mm in length, 19.34mm in width, 1.72mm in thickness and weigh 4.35g.

A pair of copper-alloy tweezers of probable medieval date. They are complete and have a tightly folded loop which appears to have the remains of the suspension loop within it. The arms are very slightly flared and are bent at the end to form a pincer shape. Approximately one third from the end is a metal bar which is bent around the arms which would have been used to secure them when not in use. Lead mortuary cross cast as a crucifix with the naturalistic figure of the crucified Christ depicted in half relief, as is the scroll at the head of the cross. An oval perforation of length 2.4mm below a curved lug at the top was presumably for suspension of the cross. The figure is flattened by recent abrasions and the cross shaft is indented on both its sides and bent at about knee level on the figure. Such crosses were included in burials of the later medieval period (Gilchrist and Sloane 2005, 88-93), though are often very crudely formed, simply being cut from lead sheet. This cas…

A cast copper-alloy buckle frame of Medieval date. It is a double oval frame which is d-shaped in section and slightly angled. The bar is narrowed for the pin which is present. The pin is seperately cast and is bent around the bar. It us rectangular in section and tapers to a point. On the outside of both sides of the frame is an oval knop which is flat backed and is decorated on the face. The decoration could be foliate or be a face but it is too worn to see clearly. It measures 47.29mm in length, 20.15mm in width, 2.34mm in thickness and weighs 5.76g.

There is a hole at the middle of the bar for the pin which is present. This is seperately cast, is bent around the bar and is circular in section. A cast copper-alloy buckle frame of Medieval date. It is a d-shaped frame which is circular in section. The bar is narrowed and offset for the pin which is present. The pin is separately cast and is bent around the bar. It is rectangular in section and tapers towards the end. There is no decoration on the pin or frame. It measures 23.02mm in length, 11.73mm in width, 3.03mm in thickness and weighs 3.17g. It is similar to examples published from London (Egan and Pritchard, 1991, no 390).

Dagger quillon. The arms are oval in cross-section, taper to rounded points, and are straight but project at a slight angle towards the side where the blade would have projected. The oval perforation (20 mm x 7 mm ) for the tang is flanked by grooves for the shoulders of the blade. Length 114 mm, maximum width 13 mm, thickness 6 mm. Medieval dagger quillon form is based closely on contemporary sword quillon form.
