A copper-alloy buckle and plate, Egan type 4, of later 14th century date. The buckle has a D-shaped frame with a broad band with slightly pointed outer edge and flanked by moulded collars centred on the outer frame. The pin is formed from a tapered strip of copper alloy, with the broader end hooked around the crossbar of the buckle. A sheet of cut copper alloy forms the plate. A circular perforation at the far end indicates where the plate was riveted to the belt strap, and the plate has two retangular projections at the opposite end that are hooked around the crossbar of the buckle…

Cast lead alloy spindle whorl or weight. The object is oval in plan and cross-section. It has a regular central circular perforation with an internal diameter of 4.88mm. Each face of the object is worn and has no visible decoration. The object has a mid-white patina. Similar examples of spindle whorls have reportedly been found in contexts dated from the Roman through to the Post-Medieval period although the majority are typically dated broadly to the Medieval period c.1066-1500.

A cast lead alloy token or tally, probably dating from the later medieval to post-medieval periods. The token is bifacial, with a spoked wheel on the obverse and a six-pointed star or linear design on the reverse. The reverse is very worn, so that the design can only just be seen. It is uncertain what these objects were used for, but they may have operated as small change or possibly even game pieces.

A complete cast copper alloy bar mount of medieval date. The mount has a large central lobe and two terminal lobes with the rivets still present. The central lobe is decorated with four transverse grooves of which the resulting raised lines are ribbed. The reverse of the mount is hollow and the rivets project from the reverse of the terminal lobes. The metal has a dark brownish-black patina and survives in good condition. The mount is 19.9mm long, 10.9mm wide, 2.4mm thick and weighs 1.4g. Similar mounts can be seen in Dress Accessories p.214 and date from AD 1250 - 1400.

A worn, cast copper-alloy open-topped thimble or sewing ring of probable later Medieval to Post-Medieval date. The rim is unthickened and there are four rows of evenly spaced dots running around the ring. It is slightly tapered. It measures 10.48mm in height, 20.54mm in diameter at the base, 19.09mm in diameter at top, 1.14mm in thickness, and weighs 5.87g. The use of a thimble with an open top suggests a date range in the 15th to 16th centuries AD (see Holmes, 1988).

A cast copper-alloy strap loop of Medieval date. It is five sided and rectangular in section. The attachment edge has a central circular hole for the seperately cast rivet which is missing. It measures 20.95mm in length, 16.64mm in width, 3.91mm in thickness and weighs 2.06g. It is similar to examples published from London (Egan and Pritchard, 1991, no 1252).

A sherd of Medieval ceramic vessel, probably a dish as it is only glazed on the inside. The fabric is a warm grey colour with a fine break and the inclusions are poorly sorted white quartz pebbles and grey flecks. There is a white slip under the glaze which is pale lemony green with strips of dark brown.
