A medieval finger-ring, the wire hoop slightly distorted, with an irregular semicircular bezel containing a dark red stone (probably a garnet). The ring is gold and dates from the late twelfth or the thirteenth century. Consequently, in terms of age and as the object contains a minimum of 10% precious metal it qualifies as Treasure under the stipulations of the Treasure Act 1996.

A medieval brooch, consisting of a hoop, triangular in section, set with a collett at the top accommodating a coloured stone and terminating in a pair of clasped hands. The hands were designed to hold a stone, probably a pearl, which has now perished. The two registers formed by the triangular sections are engraved with letters that read + PAR CEST PRESENT M VERWSRENTENS (By/with this present.....) The meaning of this (rhyming?) French inscription is unclear but it almost certainly signifies a gift between two lovers. The brooch is gold and dates from the thirteenth century. …

A rare 'Christogram' gold ring with a black-letter inscription in lower-case letters reading ihc engraved on a sub-oval bezel. The inscription means IESUS CHRISTOS SALVATOR (Jesus saviour of man). The ring is probably 15th century but could be earlier. A medieval finger-ring formed of a slightly convex hoop decorated on the exterior surface with a series of rounded indentations, probably intended to represent tears. There is no bezel. The hoop is slightly bent and there is a large crack which has completely fractured the hoop. Inside the hoop is an inscription that reads, in black-letter script, of loyallt is ioye (of loyalty is joy). The crack runs between the last L and the T of loyallt. A gold stirrup shaped finger-ring of Medieval date. The slender 'D' shaped hoop, flat on the inner surface, is 2.13mm wide and 0.57mm thick at the base of the hoop (opposite the bezel). The hoop rises up to a pointed bezel with a sub-oval/sub-rectangular setting. The hoop is 2.62mm wide and 3.78mm thick at the bezel, thickness not including the setting which increases the thickness at the bezel to 4.51mm. Working treasure report: A complete gold Medieval finger-ring, with an oval bezel set with a blue stone, possibly sapphire. The hoop of the ring is circular in cross section: the shoulders are broader and taper into a thin band. Either side of the bezel is a narrow transverse ridge. The ring is in good condition, the only defect being that the hoop is slightly bent out of shape. A very similar ring has been found in Kington St Michael, Wiltshire and can be found in the Treasure Annual Report 2003, pg. 102, no. 169. The ring is typical of the late 12th or 13th century

A Medieval gold finger ring of probable 13th century date. The ring is stirrup-shaped set with a green stone (possibly glass or emerald). There are decorative bosses along the shoulders running along a raised ridge. The bosses have punched decoration giving them the appearance of clusters of granulation on one shoulder and stripes on the other: possibly intended to represent a vine with grapes, leaves and tendrils; or another floral design. Description: A gold finger ring of Medieval date. It has a d-shaped hoop which is complete. It is decorated on the outside face with lozenges infilled with groups of pellets. It widens slightly to form a stirrup-shaped like bezel with a circular hole for a setting, which is missing. It is bent out of shape due to post-depositional damage. The frame is mis-shapen but is approximately 15mm in diameter and D-shaped in section. 1.5mm wide each side of the bezel, the frame narrows towards the back and appears to have been worn thinner through use.
