A complete cast copper alloy probable punch or die of medieval to post-medieval date. The punch is rectangular in cross section at the punch end and tapers to the square sectioned shaft at the end. The design on the punch end is a cross with a wide triangular bas stem, short arms and head.
The metal has a mid brownish-green colour and is worn. The punch is 53.8mm long, 7.7mm wide, 5.1mm thick and weighs 10g.

An incomplete cast copper alloy sheet buckle plate of medieval date. The plate is rectangular in plan and cross section and is very thin with much wear around the edges. The front face is decorated with a punched design consisting of two lozenge shapes, one within the other, and a series of irregular shapes in the resulting inner and outer cells. Two small iron rivets are present in two corners of the plate while a further two holes for rivets remain in the other two corners. The reverse is flat with a single line of punched dots along one of the longer edges.

A complete cast lead seal matrix of medieval date. The seal is a pointed oval or vessica shape with a perforated lug set on a central rib along the longitudinal axis of the reverse. The front face bears a central motif of a circle with a horizontal line running through it surrounded by the legend * S'ALICIE MACTILO (Seal of Alice Mactilo) therefore representing a personal seal of this woman.
The metal is a mid whitish-brown colour and is worn. The seal is 28.6mm long, 23.3mm wide, 9.3mm thick and weighs 16.6g.

A complete cast copper alloy bar mount of medieval date. The mount has a large central lobe and two terminal lobes with the rivets still present. The central lobe is decorated with four transverse grooves of which the resulting raised lines are ribbed. The reverse of the mount is hollow and the rivets project from the reverse of the terminal lobes.
The metal has a dark brownish-black patina and survives in good condition. The mount is 19.9mm long, 10.9mm wide, 2.4mm thick and weighs 1.4g.
Similar mounts can be seen in Dress Accessories p.214 and date from AD 1250 - 1400.

A cast lead mount of medieval date. The mount is circular in plan though has been bent slightly out of shape. The upper surface is decorated with a raised central pellet with eight radiating curved lines. A casting line is present on the reverse of the mount with a centrally projecting shank which terminates in a worn break.
The metal is a mid greyish-brown colour and is worn. The mount is 18.1mm in diameter, 9.5mm thick and weighs 5.9g.

A complete cast copper alloy cup weight of medieval date. The weight is circular in plan with sides which taper from the top to the base giving a sub-trapezoidal profile. Around the top of the rim are a total of 20 punched ring and dot motifs and the rest of the object is undecorated.
The metal has a dark greenish-black patina and is worn. The cup weight is 24.5mm in diameter, 9.1mm tall, 3.1mm thick and weighs 14.1g.

An incomplete cast copper alloy probable buckle of medieval date. The buckle is comprised of a single sheet of metal, rectangular in section and semi-circular in plan. Both ends of the buckle terminate in loops which are filled with iron corrosion suggesting the use of an iron spindle. The upper surface of the buckle is decorated with an incised wavering line.
The metal has a mid brownish-green patina and is worn. The buckle is 34.8mm long, 5.4mm wide, 1.2mm thick and weighs 3.2g.

The pendant is shield shaped with a worn projection from which the suspension loop would have extended from the centre of its top edge. A complete cast copper alloy buckle of medieval date. The buckle is a single looped oval with a single collared knop projecting from the outer edge and a narrowed and offset strap bar. Casting spurs are present to either side of the frame.
The metal has a mid brownish-green patina and is worn. The buckle is 26.9mm long, 17.6mm wide, 4.9mm thick and weighs 3.9g.

A complete cast lead spindle whorl of medieval to post-medieval date. The spindle whorl is bi-conical with a central perforation running through it. Both sides of the spindle whorl are decorated; one with an irregular eight pointed star design with a single raised pellet within each resulting cell; the other with eleven irregularly spced and orientated raised lines and pellets. Some of the pellets occur on the lines themselves.
The metal is a mid greyish-white colour and is worn. The spindle whorl is 32.4mm in diameter, 9.9mm thick and weighs 44.1g.

The key is large with a hollow oval sectioned stem terminating in worn breaks at both ends where the projecting tip and bow would have extended. A bulbous collar is present from which the bow would have extended and an integrally cast bit projects from the opposite end of the stem at a 90 degree angle.
The metal has a mid brownish-green patina and is worn. The key is 63.6mm long, 24.1mm wide, 8.6mm thick and weighs 25.2g.

A complete cast copper alloy rotary key of medieval date. The key has a rectangular sectioned circular bow from which the circular sectioned stem extends terminating in a projecting tip. The bit projects from the end of the stem and is comprised of one ward and two clefts. The key is undecorated.
The metal has a mid brownish-green patina and is very worn. The key is 39.6mm long, 11.2mm wide, 3.3mm thick and weighs 3.7g.

An incomplete cast copper alloy buckle of medieval date. The buckle is annular with a circular section and is undecorated. The pin is rectangular in section and is looped loosely around the frame. The tip of the pin has been lost to an old worn break. No recess for the pin is present.
The metal has a dark greenish-brown patina and is worn. The buckle is 38.6mm in diameter, 3.9mm thick and weighs 8.7g.
Egan and Pritchard, p.57, suggest that annular rings with pins that do not have a pin constriction on the frame should be considered buckles rather than brooches and illustrate similar…
