A Medieval, copper alloy, English Jetton of Edward II (1307 - 1327). It is a Berry type 15 (Castle) obverse with Reverse 5 (cross moline). See Berry's Medieval English Jettons, page 48. It is 18.6mm in diameter and 0.9mm thick. It weighs 1.16gm. The central piercing that is normally found on this type of jetton only shows on the obverse of this example and has not penetrated all the way through.

Copper alloy jetton now smooth with almost all detail lost. A few letters of the inscription can be recognised 'CIA PL' (ave maria gra CIA PL ena) suggesting this represents the remains of a French late Medieval jetton. Through the jetton is a hole, 1.8 x 1.2mm and one face bears traces of iron staining.

A copper alloy French jetton, struck during the reign of Charles V or VI (AD 1373-1415). A jetton is a type of reckoning counter and were used across Europe for c.400 years. This example bears the inscription AVE MARIA GRACIA PL(ENA), which translates to "Hail Mary, full of grace". Mitchiner (1988) p179-182, no. 462-480.

Medieval French copper alloy jetton of the shield of france ancien type, mis-struck with one blank side, shield of France ancien / blank. Similar obverse are illustrated in Mitchiner (1988:172), no. 433-434b who suggests they were issued under Charles VI (1380-1422) and dated to the early 1380's during the process of coinage and jetton reformation. The jetton has been folded and has split almost completely across on the fold.

A copper-alloy Nuremberg jetton, Post Medieval in date (AD1500-1700). A Rose and Orb jetton but too worn to identify further. The obverse depicts three crowns alternating with three lis arranged around a central rose. The reverse depicts an Imperial orb surmounted by a cross patty within a three arched tressure. Both legends are illegible. The edges are worn and damaged. The jetton is typical of Nuremberg jettons from the 16th century. Weight: 0.6g. Diameter: 21.23mm. Identified from notes and photograph. No further information available.
