Flattened fragment of the side of a pressed sheet copper alloy one-piece thimble with diagonal rows of circular indentations bordered by a plain band and then three concentric parallel rows of circular indentations beneath, the central row having the same size indentations as those above, and the other two rows either side having much smaller indentations. Below these indentations is a plain band about 6 mm in height, although the base of the thimble is missing, where the letters of phrases, owners or manufacturers could be inscribed. A complete cast copper alloy barrel tap of late post-medieval to modern date. The barrel tap has a circular sectioned spigot which tapers towards the end for fitting into the barrel on which are fine longitudinal striations. From the striations the tap expands into two opposing threaded trunnions preceding the spout. The spout is also circular in section and curves downwards to allow the flow of liquid. A rectangular sectioned projection extends from the outer curve of the spout. The rectangular tap handle has the following stamped details "PARRY & JACKSON LONDON & PARIS" on one side …

David Higgins of Liverpool University comments: "These bowls are presumably made of some form of pewter or lead based alloy rather than pure lead - probably the same material as they make die cast metal soldiers and cars from....this type of bowl comes from a toy whistle of late nineteenth or early twentieth century date" (Pers.comm 4/7/12). A cast tap with projecting spigot, now broken, a tapered bar to enable tightening of the tap in place, and a rounded housing for a rectangular tap with an opposed screw to regulate outflow through a splayed outlet. This object is probably associated with domestic gas supply, and the form of the outlet would permit a more flexible pipe to be attached. Suggested date: Modern, 1850-1950. Copper alloy, painted Tray or Pan. A flat circular Pan with a flat base of thickness 0.6mm with a separately made everted rim with a maximum thickness of 1.3mm, found in several joining fragments. The rim is cast and possibly lathe finished, with a basal flange supporting a beaten copper plate. There were at least two drilled holes of diameter 5mm in the upper part of the rim, possibly to permit the suspension of the object. A pierced silver-alloy coin struck under the Turkish Ottoman ruler Mahmud II (1808-1839). Dimensions: 16mm diameter, 0.2mm thick. Weight: 0.45g. Paul Cannon (pers. comm.) comments: 'I can add some further information about this coin. As stated the year on the coin is AH 1223 (equivalent to AD 1808) but this is the accession year of Mahmud II.
