A Medieval silver coin fragment: a shortcross penny possibly of Henry III, class 7b (1223 - 1242 AD). Only a quarter of the penny survives, but it seems to be broken rather than an intentionally cut farthing. It was possibly minted at Canterbury. Not enough of the coin survives to be certain of Class, mint or moneyer. See North number 979. Length: 13.7mm; Width: 10.2mm; Thickness: 0.82mm; Weight: 0.5g
