Post Medieval silver plated contemporary copy of a half crown of Charles I (1625-1649). The forgery is probably based on a Group III silver half crown, with the third depiction of the king on horseback on the obverse and a round shield on the reverse, North No's 2209-2213. The edges of the coin are uneven, the surfaces are worn and the copper alloy base is showing in places, particularly on the obverse.
