A copper alloy trapezoidal buckle for either a shoe or breetches. The buckle has a drilled framed for the insertion of the spindle which bears the remains of the seperate chape. There is some simple moulding designs around the curved frames. This style of buckle was in use between c. AD 1660-1720.

A fragment of a copper alloy sub-rectangular shoe buckle dating to the Georgian period. The buckle has a drilled framed for the insertion of the spindle and the remains of moulded decoration either side of this hole. This style of buckle was in use between c. AD 1720-1790.

It is a single loop oval buckle frame that is D-shaped in plan, with a knop on either side of the narrowed and offset strap bar. It is a Meols type 2. A complete cast copper alloy annular buckle of Medieval to Post Medieval date (c.1350- 1720 AD). The buckle has a circular frame with an integrally cast pin bar, around which a thin copper alloy pin remains. The pin is possibly a replacement as it is disproportionately thin to function properly with the buckle frame. The edges of the frame are internally bevelled. Copper alloy with gilding Buckle. Cast rectangular buckle frame with integrally cast sub-rectangular plate with engrailed end and decoration comprising an incised saltire and a vertical line. An integral rivet of diameter 3.6mm projects from the back of the plate, while a vacant rivet hole of diameter 2.8mm lies next to the edge of the frame. Traces of gilding appear on the plate and frame. Suggested date: Medieval, 1200-1300. Length: 31.6mm, Height: 15.5mm, Thickness (plate clear of rivet): 2.3mm, Weight: 3.57gms.

It is an oval frame with an expanded outer edge which has a constricted centre where there is a raised knop, and wide rounded wings extending to the sides which are flat. There are traces of gilt on the wings which are also decorated with longitudinal grooves. The bar is offset and recessed, but the pin is missing. This object was found near Towton Battlefield, so it may date from 1461.

A Post-Medieval copper alloy rectangular buckle frame with a central bar. The frame is worn and the bar has been distorted possibly by plough damage. The frame has decorative moulding on its outside edge and a notch for a pin-rest, and there are paired knops at the corners with transverse groove decoration. The buckle measures 39.37mm in length, 35.65mm in width and weighs 12.03g.
