When complete it had four openwork crescent-shaped perforations at each corner. One of these is missing. In plan, the loop is oval, convex at the front and bevelled at the rear. The plate is sub-rectangular in plan. Its sides flare slightly from the loop towards the attachment where there is rounded lobe. In the plate, adjacent to the short bar, there is a pin hole which is largely obscured by a deposit of iron corrosion. It consists of an elongated knop and part of the frame. On the upper face of the knop there is a circular cell with a central pit. The frame is semi-circular in plan and has a raised rim on the inside of the upper face. It is corroded overall and the breaks are old. 25.01 x 15.58 x 4.39mm. Weight: 2.58g. It had a central separate iron spindle, the ends of which survive in the drilled holes. The upper face of the frame has moulded decoration in the form of continuous transverse ribbing. It has a semi-circular pin slot at the buckle frame end and a circular rivet hole at each corner. At the front it is decorated with curving raised lines forming an abstract design.
