An incomplete post-Medieval cast copper-alloy double-looped buckle (c. 1500-c. 1650 AD). One loop is missing and the surviving loop oval in plan, convex at the front and flat at the rear. The upper face is bevelled on the inside. The central bar is triangular in cross-section. The tapering copper-alloy pin is 'D'-shaped in cross-section, flat at the rear. When complete it had four openwork crescent-shaped perforations at each corner. One of these is missing. A fragment of a Medieval cast copper-alloy single looped buckle (c. 1350-c. 1400 AD). This fragment comprises part of the outer edge and one rounded knop. 10.17 x 12.83 x 4.82mm. Weight: 1.55g. This fragment is corroded and has a patchy dark green patina. It is very similar to a buckle from London and dated c. 1340-1400 (Egan & Pritchard 1991: 74, fig. 44, ref: 299).

In plan, the loop is oval, convex at the front and bevelled at the rear. The plate is sub-rectangular in plan. Its sides flare slightly from the loop towards the attachment where there is rounded lobe. An incomplete Early-Medieval (Anglo-Saxon) cast copper-alloy possible buckle (c. 800-c. 900 AD). This object is moulded at the front and flat at the rear. It consists of an elongated knop and part of the frame. On the upper face of the knop there is a circular cell with a central pit. The frame is semi-circular in plan and has a raised rim on the inside of the upper face. It is corroded overall and the breaks are old. 25.01 x 15.58 x 4.39mm. Weight: 2.58g. An incomplete post-Medieval cast copper-alloy buckle (c. 1720-c. 1790 AD). The pin and spindle are missing. This buckle is rectangular in plan with rounded corners. It had a central separate iron spindle, the ends of which survive in the drilled holes. The upper face of the frame has moulded decoration in the form of continuous transverse ribbing. The rear face is flat. The surfaces are largely covered in light green copper-alloy corrosion deposits with iron staining close to the holes. 39.51 x 33.53 x 2.86mm. Weight: 6.96g. An incomplete and misshapen Medieval sheet copper-alloy folded buckle plate (c. 1200-c. 1400 AD). This object is the front leaf of a folded plate and is roughly square in plan. It has a semi-circular pin slot at the buckle frame end and a circular rivet hole at each corner. At the front it is decorated with curving raised lines forming an abstract design. The metal is reddish brown and is partially covered with copper-alloy corrosion products. There are flecks of gilding at the front. Length: 23.73mm; width: 23.23mm; thickness: 0.61mm. Weight: 2.04g.
