Cast lead alloy weight dating from the Medieval to the Post-Medieval period, (1100-1700). The object is circular in plan and oval in cross-section. The outer edge has been rolled inwards to form a rounded rim leaving a hexagon shaped shallow in the centre. The centre of the objet rises up unevenly. The object has a mid-white patina. Lead weights are common throughout the Medieval and Post-Medieval period.

Lead and iron fishing lure. Plano-convex casting representing a beetle with eyes, wing case and abdomen modelled, and with the bent stub of an iron hook or pin embedded in its flat underside on the centre line, a little towards the tail. The form of the object enabled it to spin as it was drawn through water, and the low relief detail on the convex face was intended to set up vibrations to entice fish such as salmon or pike - its 'realistic' appearance would be of more significance to the fisherman than to his prey. A Medieval to Post Medieval cast lead alloy uniface circular token. The token has a raised cross design, with a single raised pellet in each angle,possibly intended to imitate a Medieval long cross penny. The reverse is blank. Lead tokens are difficult to date precisely and could be Medieval to Post Medieval in date (1250-1800 AD). Medieval lead alloy token? 18mm in diameter and 5mm thick. The object is in fair condition and weighs 6.27grams. It is circular in form and sub triangular (domed) in section. It has a flat, plain underside and its upper surface is decorated with raised lines spiralling from the centre.

Cast lead sphere, very damaged and distorted, probably a cannon ball or grape shot. It has a deep dent to one side but is c.43.6mm in diameter, 1.6 inches and weighs 420 grams, 14.75 ounces. It may have been used with the smaller classes of cannons such as a falconet (2in bore, usually shooting 1lb shot) or in a bag with other similar sized shot (grape shot).

Medieval cast copper alloy shield shaped mount. The mount has a flat front plate in the shape of a triangular shield with a straight top and slightly convex sides meeting at a point at the bottom. It is badly corroded but has a design of three indented claw hammers with traces of red enamel in one. Medieval incomplete and damaged lead-alloy pilgrim's ampulla. It has a rounded base from which a rectangular , neck protrudes, expanding in width to the top. It is now squashed flat, with the neck bent back over the body and 50% missing to old breaks. The top of the neck is very damaged with breaks and some loss of the original edge. An incomplete cast lead-alloy weight, probably home-made/unofficial, dating from the post-medieval or early modern period, i.e. c. AD1600-1800. The reverse is plain and shows that the weight was roughly cast whilst the obverse displays lettering withing two concentric circles. It is mirror-writing and it is not possible to make out the writing in the outer circle. However, the central writing reads '[1/2]lb'.
