Medieval incomplete and damaged lead-alloy pilgrim's ampulla. It has a rounded base from which a rectangular , neck protrudes, expanding in width to the top. It is now squashed flat, with the neck bent back over the body and 50% missing to old breaks. The top of the neck is very damaged with breaks and some loss of the original edge. An incomplete cast lead-alloy medieval pilgrim's ampulla. The artefact would have been flask-shaped only the rounded, semi-circular lower chamber survives. The ampulla is decorated bifacially on the lower chamber. On one surface are numerous incised grooves to create an X. edge. On the other surface there appear to two simple lines forming an X. The ampulla is 27.95mm in length, 30.0mm wide, 5.4mm thick and weighs 16.6 grams
