A Post-Medieval coin: A copper alloy contemporary copy of a silver shilling of Edward VI (1547-1553), second period (1549-1550); initial mark probably Y (1549-1551); minted in London. Year in the reverse inscription written in Roman numerals: MDXLIX (1549). See North, volume 2, page 101, number 1917. This is a copper alloy core which has been silver coated. A cast copper alloy finger ring, probably of medieval date, AD1200-1500. It has a circular hoop which is D shaped in section, and a prominent cone shaped bezel On the outer edge of the hoop, directly opposite the bezel, is a short, raised collar of metal. At the base of the bezel is a shoulder of metal of triangular section. The cone shaped bezel projects from the centre of this shoulder and tapers outwards to a pair of semicircular claw type fittings, which contain a setting, possibly of degraded amber. A complete Medieval to Post-Medieval cast copper alloy button dating from about 1450-1600. The button has an integral undrilled shank. The front of the button is domed and the back of the dome is flat. It is solid, the decoration on the dome appearing to have been a cross and pellet design. It has a medium green patina, with a dark brown patina on the dome within the design. Please also see Bailey's (2004) Buttons and Fasteners, page 25, figure 7.13. A Cast copper alloy tear drop shaped pendant of probably Medieval or Post Medieval date. It has a broken suspension loop at the apex, and the body is drop shaped in plan and oval in section. It is decorated with two grooved bands round the top near the loop, and similar bands near the base. A medieval, cast copper alloy buckle with integral buckle plate, dating from 1250-1350AD. The buckle frame is oval and thicker on the outer edge, which has a pin groove in the centre. The plate tapers slightly from the inner edge of the frame to a blunt, squared-off end. A copper alloy Roman brooch, a trumpet brooch dating from 75 - 175 AD. A loop in the centre of the back of the trumpet shaped head holds the spring of 6 turns (five surviving) but the pin and loop are missing and the breaks are not patinated. There is a double collar above and below the acanthus button which continues right round the bow. The lower bow is faceted. The foot and part of the catchplate are missing and the break is not patinated. The rest of the brooch is very corroded and worn, with a mid green patina.
