A copper-alloy seal matrix dating to the medieval period. The seal is circular with a faceted tapering handle. The terminal of the handle has a collar with an oval loop. The face of the seal depicts clasped right hands with a bird in flight above. The inscription surrounding reads: FEY ME TEYNT ['Faith holds me', literally, i.e., in 21C terms, "I will be faithful to you"]

A probable copper alloy strap slider of medieval or post medieval date. The fitting is roughly trefoil shaped with the remains of what appears to be grooved decoration on the front. On the reverse is a rectangular loop, also rectangular in cross section, which allowed the object to be threaded onto a belt or harness strap. The strap slider has suffered extensive corrosion resulting in the loss of surface detail, making this example difficult to date closely. Numerous similar examples of various dates may be seen on this database, for example LIN-8768E5.

An early Roman copper-alloy Hod Hill brooch. The brooch has rolled over wings; the pin is missing. The bow is narrow and contains a tall ridge down the centre and a narrow ledge on both perimeters. The foot has four transverse, notched ribs. The surface has been tinned or silvered. A catchplate is located on the reverse of the foot.

A late medieval/ early post-medieval (1450-1600) copper alloy chafing dish handle and attachment lug. Together, they measure 57mm in length and width. The handle has a sub-trapezoidal frame in plan, with the edge opposite the attachment lug shaped into a double curve with central indent, rather like a depiction of a heart. In cross-section the frame is square with slightly bevelled corners giving it a hexagon shape and its maximum dimensions at the top of the flaring sides is 5.46 x 4.84 mm. A probable pin manufactured from cast copper alloy. The object has a flattened disc-like terminal decorated with two raised horizontal lines, the shaft is rectangular in section around the middle, tapering to a point. This object may be part of a brooch fastening, or used for securing clothing. Broadly similar examples, also from Lincolnshire, may be found on this database including NCL-DOCEC4. That particular example has been identified as an early medieval pin, dating from the 8th-9th centuries.
