An incomplete cast copper alloy sheet buckle plate of medieval date. The plate is rectangular in plan and cross section and is very thin with much wear around the edges. The front face is decorated with a punched design consisting of two lozenge shapes, one within the other, and a series of irregular shapes in the resulting inner and outer cells. Two small iron rivets are present in two corners of the plate while a further two holes for rivets remain in the other two corners. An incomplete cast copper alloy probable buckle of medieval date. The buckle is comprised of a single sheet of metal, rectangular in section and semi-circular in plan. Both ends of the buckle terminate in loops which are filled with iron corrosion suggesting the use of an iron spindle. The upper surface of the buckle is decorated with an incised wavering line. The metal has a mid brownish-green patina and is worn. The buckle is 34.8mm long, 5.4mm wide, 1.2mm thick and weighs 3.2g.

An incomplete cast copper alloy buckle of post-medieval date. The object is a sub-rectangular shoe or knee buckle with a drilled frame for a separate spindle and concave bifid sides. Two opposing, oblique knops are present on each end of the frame. The spindle no longer remains though iron corrosion on the frame suggests its composition. The metal has a dark reddish-black patina and is worn. The buckle is 20.7mm long, 14.8mm wide, 2.9mm thick and weighs 2.1g. A similar example is illustrated in Whitehead, p,100, no.632 and is dated to circa 1660 - 1720.

Casting spurs are present to either side of the frame. The metal has a mid brownish-green patina and is worn. The buckle is 26.9mm long, 17.6mm wide, 4.9mm thick and weighs 3.9g. An incomplete cast copper alloy buckle of Early-medieval date. Roughly half of the buckle remains and is circular in section with a devolved open-jawed animal head at the terminal. The opposing side of the buckle would also have terminated in this feature giving the appearance of two beasts biting the hinge bar. The frame is decorated with swollen rings at regular intervals. The metal has a mid brownish-green patina and is worn. The buckle is 31.1mm long, 5.7mm in diameter and weighs 6.8g. Similar examples can be seen in Hawkes, p.58, fig.20.

The front edge is decorated with three incised lines, one of which will serve as the pin rest. The pin remains in tact and is looped around the strap bar. The metal has a mid greenish-brown patina and is worn. The buckle is 15.5mm long, 14.9mm wide, 3.9mm thick and weighs 2.3g. A similar example is illustrated in Whitehead, p.27, no.137 and is dated to circa 1350 - 1400.

The sides are concaves and the outer curved edges are ribbed. The pin remains in tact and is triangular in plan. A chape is also present around the spindle though the terminal no longer survives. The metal has a mid reddish-brown patina and is worn. The buckle is 21.1mm long, 17.6mm wide, 3.2mm thick and weighs 3.1g. A similar example is illustrated in Whitehead, p.99, no.624 and is dated to circa 1660 - 1720.

The plate is 20.8mm long, 14.3mm wide, 4.7mm thick and weighs 3.3g. While this object was found with YORYM-103F35 there is no evidence to suggest they were associated within their period of usage.
