An incomplete copper alloy headstud brooch of Roman date (75-200AD). The head of the brooch is complete, being broadly sub-triangular (D shaped) in plan with a slight stepped profile. The reverse face has a distinct shallow concave recess. On the reverse and on the sides of the upper bow edge are two conjoined D shaped lugs which are pierced and hold the axis bar and spring. The axis bar and spring is formed from a length of iron wire and is poorly preserved, remnants of the axis bar are present in the pierced lugs, fragments of the spring are concreted to the head of the brooch. A cast copper alloy fragment from the bow of a Roman trumpet brooch (75-175 AD). The fragment comprises the mid part of the bow; the head and foot are lost through old patinated breaks. It is crescentic in plan and oval in cross section. It is decorated with a central real flanked above and below by stylised acanthus leaves. The lower edge shows the top of a mid-rib which would have formed the catch plate. The fragment is a mid brownish green colour with a good and well preserved surface patina. A cast copper alloy strap distributor of probable post medieval date. The distributor comprises a central copper alloy ring to which is attached three simple strap loops with the remnants of leather straps surviving. The central ring is a mid green colour and has a good polished surface patina. Uni-faced cast lead token of later medieval or post-medieval date (1450-1800). The token is broadly circular in plan and slight distorted through bending. The upper face is decorated with a cast design of a stylised bird standing within a border decorated with radial ribs. The bird is relatively crude with slight beak, wing case and also feet depicted, from the style of the feet it is possible that the bird is a duck. The reverse is plain flat and undecorated. The token measures 24.0mm diameter is 2.7mm thick, and weighs 7.17 grams.
