Copper alloy Wheel. Probably pressed metal flanged wheel with three round apertures and a lug, probably one half of a two-part pulley wheel. The flange has opposed spurs probably relating to its function; the hub of the wheel projects externally and is dimpled within, it was probably gripped externally by paired brackets. Possibly from a domestic pulley system, as used to raise and lower indoor clothes drying racks; similar objects also served to route bell pull wires where domestic servants were employed, and for related purposes. Copper alloy, plaster and glass Unknown. Cast cylinder with a flange around one end, and two circumferential ribs bearing a series of lozenges, probably to afford grip or to secure the cylinder. The inside of the cylinder bears three circumferential grooves at its flanged end. The other end contains the flat end of a tapered object of solid clear white (i.e. transparent) glass which was formerly held in place by a layer of white fixative. Copper alloy Loop. Oval loop with a handle made by twisting a length of flat rectangular section wire of 2.3mm width and 0.7mm thickness (with corrosion); the end has been cut with shears. Though green corrosion covers much of the wire, bright metal is exposed by abrasion at one end. This resembles the wire handle of a bottle brush, though deliberately cut, perhaps to serve as a toy for blowing soap bubbles. Suggested date: Modern, 1850-1950. White Metal Possible Mount. Cast metal strip, broken in half, with upper curved edges and a straighter lower edge which suggest the object has been trimmed here, perhaps to remove an unwanted text or title. An embossed motif, which appears reversed on the back, comprises a cushion crown over four elongated leaves arranged as a saltire flanked by a pair of anchors on a ground of further similar leaves. The scheme recalls that of military or institutional badges. Suggested date: Modern, 1800-1900. Length: 44.5mm, Height: 12.4mm, Thickness: 1.2mm, Weight: 4.19gms.

Copper alloy mount. Fragment of an elongated oval plate of pressed metal with a lug with fixing hole of diameter 2mm bent over at one curved end. A decorative stamped design comprises a lozenge with its border adorned by a series of oval depressions; the motif appears reversed on the back of the object. An overall curvature may suggest this was attached to a walking stick or staff. Suggested date: Modern, 1850-1900. Length: 40.8mm, Width (as found): 12.9mm, Thickness: 0.7mm, Weight: 1.84gms.
