Cast and turned rim fragment from a robust vessel of estimated rim diameter 110mm; the vessel body, which is of 3.6mm thickness, increasing to 5.7mm by a break in the vessel wall (see below), may also have expanded in diameter below its rim. The overall form may have resembled that of a chemist's mortar. The rim was square in profile with an upper lip which converges with the outer edge of the rim as it approaches a vertical break in the wall, possibly to enable pouring. Copper alloy shotgun cartridge extractor: a tool for removing a cartridge jammed in the breech of a shotgun. This procedure was more usually necessary before the introduction of automatic ejection systems. The tool would only be worn until required, when the three bevelled prongs would afford a grip on the metal base of a cartridge and a twist of the wrist would dislodge it. The coin is an apparently cast copy of a voided long cross penny of Henry III (1216-1272) Class 3; a modern 'mintmark' has not been observed, though may be obscured by solder. A fragment of a broken polished stone adze originally thought to be of Neolithic date, now thought to be a modern, Ethnographic, example. The fragment comprises of part of the blade end of the adze. An intaglio of probably Modern date. It is made from pale green glass and is oval in shape, with an inscribed device. It is uncertain what the device is intended to depict. There may be two arms or wings with a head above and a horizontal bar below, but these do not suggest a classical figure. Intaglios such as this were popular items during the 18th and 19th centuries when they were utilised on seals and fobs. The object measures 11.11mm in length, 8.17mm in width, 1.58mm in thickness and weighs 0.24g.

A fragment of a modern lead alloy toy train carriage. The fragment contains one side of the carriage; it is decorated on one face with two wheels and the slatted carriage wall. The name 'LIVERPOOL' is written inside one of the slats. Attached to one wheel is a linear fragment, possibly a piece of track. The top of the carriage is broken. The reverse is plain and rough, suggesting that this was one side of a 3D toy and that the reverse would have been hidden inside the toy. Lead alloy toy. Hollow cast seated figure, perhaps supplied to occupy a toy vehicle. The modelling is naturalistic, at 1:32 or 54mm scale: the female figure is posed with arms and legs crossed, and wears a jacket or blazer, skirt or, more probably, a coat riding above the knee, and trousers with turn-ups. The head has either been broken off or was detachable. The maker's legend -PYE appears in relief on the lower back. Suggested Date: Modern, 1920-1960. Height: 43.3mm, Width: 17.1mm, Thickness (at neck): 2.2mm, Weight (with trapped soil): 23.42gms.
