A white metal thimble of modern date, post 1712. The thimble has been squashed in half and is covered with evenly spaced and sized pimples over the sides and top with a plain border at the rim of 2.89mm height. The top of the squashed thimble is now oval in shape and measures 12.90mm x 9.50mm. The base of the now oval thimble measures 22.70mm x 6.37mm. The plain rim has a thickness of 1.03mm and has been punch with five symbols. The front face carries the Arms of a baronet, with traces of gilding visible in places. Edward Martin (SCC Pers. Comm.) notes that the Arms are those of Peter Isaac Thelluson, 1st Baron Rendlesham (1761-1808), who was created a baron in 1806. This terminal bears a drilled hole of diameter 2.5mm, and its stepped sides suggest it was intended to limit movement to a single plane. Cast copper alloy fragment from a 'fob' seal of late Georgian or Victorian date (1750-1850). All that survives is the abraded die element which is enclosed within a hoop of copper alloy. The die is formed of a ceramic paste which has decayed in the soil. The reverse of the die is filled with a ceramic adhesive or fine grained cement. The die is abraded and so some detail is lost; the best suggestion of the device is a plumed shield on which is emblazoned a rampant lion. The finder kindly notes these spell out HOME / SWEET / HOME over three lines. This phrase was first popularised as the title of a sentimental ballad written by John Howard Payne in 1823; then as a soldiers' song in the American Civil War; and as a text for children's needlework samplers - most of the letters may be rendered in straight lines. The object is collared above the vanes with a circular top (of three quarter inch diameter) and traces of a central hole or socket of diameter 5mm, now filled. Copper alloy shell fragment. Two cast fragments of estimated diameter 90mm, from a conical casing. The fragments bear at least 12 bands of fine screw thread within. On the outer face a numbered sequence between 8 and 17 on one fragment and 1 and 8 on the other accompanies a subdivided scale of units of circa 1.5mm. The finder notes that the gradations were intended to set the fuse of heavy anti-aircraft shells to the altitude at which they should explode. Suggested date: Modern, 1916-1945. A cast copper-alloy water pistol toy of later 19th or early 20th century date. The object takes the form of a revolver or 'six-shooter' handgun, missing the sqeezable balloon handle. The attachment for the handle is a projecting disc that would have fitted into a socket. The gun is not an exact replica in miniature, however, as there is no trigger or trigger guard, hammer or sight at the end of the barrel. The end of the barrel of worn and slightly rounded and appears solid. Flashmarks are visible along the upper and lower faces around the perimeter of the object.

A fragment of a cast lead strip. A similar object has been recorded on this database WMID-EF3192 and has been interpreted as a plaque commemorating Napolean Bonaparte. Cast into the plaque is decorated with an eagle with wings outstretched, standing left. The Eagle was adopted by Napoleon as his standard, and its presence on this plaque suggests that it held a similar function to the one recorded at WMID-EF3192. The reverse is plain and the object is broken and bent.

An elaborate bowl from a 'Cadger' or 'Novelty' clay tobacco pipe in the form of the head of a bearded male, probably St Nicholas (Santa). The man has a cheerful face with slender eyes, smiling mouth and the top row of teeth on display. He has a large nose and well defined cheeks. His beard is long and wavey and his hair is formed by holly leaves and berries. The bowl is large, oval in plan and broken at the base of the stem. A cast copper-alloy gaming peg, almost certainly from a cribbage set. The peg has a tapering shank above which there is a discoidal collar with another biconical collar above and a globular head above this. It measures 48.45 mm long, 8.47 mm wide at its widest and 8.2 grams. It has a dark green patina. Cribbage was invented in the 17th century and its creation is attributed by John Aubrey to the English poet Sir John Suckling. An almost complete lead bag seal of modern date. The seal is comprised of a single disc of metal which is perforated by three parallel holes running across its diameter. The holes would have been for wire or textile ligatures which were used to secure a bag. Both sides are stamped with a central motif in a bordered roundel. On one side the image depicts a bird, most probably a pelican and the other side shows a pelican feeding its chicks with blood from its breast.
