A complete copper alloy probable trader's token of early modern date. The token is very worn but appears to have the image of a seated dog within a now illegible circumferential legend on one face. The reverse bears an indiscernible design with ribbon detail. Trade tokens were popular during the mid 17th century but continued in use into the 20th century. Trade tokens and were used as local currency and as advertising tools. The condition and style of this example suggests a more recent date.
