Token or jetton of George III (1787). It was made to imitate a George III half guinea or so-called 'spade guinea', the name being taken from the spade-shaped shield on the reverse. Modern silver cuff link element or button. It is in the form of a flower formed of a central circular recess, surrounded by eight smaller ciruclar recesses of which only five survive. Each of the outer recesses are surrouned by a narrow ropework border. The recesses are likely to have contained glass, gem or paste settings. The reverse has two incomplete projections which would have formed an attachment loop. It is 15.68mm in diameter, 2.29mm thick and weighs 0.5 grams.
