A fragment of an early Roman copper alloy bracelet dating from the 1st-2nd century AD. The fragment represents a short rectangular strip of thin copper alloy, bent, and cracked at its mid point. The upper surface is decorated with two parallel lines of pin-point indentations. The surface of the metal is in good condition with a green patina. The fragment is 31.0mm long, 13.0mm wide, 0.8mm thick and weighs 2.3g. Examples of similar bracelet fragments are known from Colchester (Crummy 1983, 37, nos. 1586, 1587, fig. 40). on the Database , CAMHER-86CC72, and CAM-EF43C6.

A fragment of a Roman copper-alloy amphora-shaped strap-end. The body is flat and triangular with bevelled edges and decoration on one face. In the wider end there is a slit to allow a strap to be attached; a slight seam down either side may indicate that it was either cast in this shape, or hammered together leaving a split attachment end. The attachment end is bevelled along most of its length, but has a slight boss at either corner. A copper-alloy double-loop asymmetrical buckle of post-Medieval date. One side of the buckle is 'D-shaped', while the other is roughly rectangular. The two sides are separated by a central axis bar of trapezoidal section, which extends to a knop at each end and has attached iron corrosion from the otherwise missing pin. An angled knop marks each of the four corners of the frame and the straight vertical side has been scalloped. The surfaces of the frame have been silvered or tinned. An incomplete copper-alloy Colchester one-piece brooch, dating from the early to mid 1st century AD. The wings are parallel-sided and of flat section. Two prongs at the centre of the head's underside represent the remains of the integrally cast spring mechanism. The arched bow is of flattened-oval section, has a vertical ridge at the centre of its upper surface and tapers to a pointed foot, on the underside of which are the remains of the catchplate. Part of a lead cloth seal of post-Medieval date. The seal is of unusual form for a cloth seal, comprising a truncated circular disc with central perforation for a cord. One side bears the crowned arms of France Modern, an unidentified letter to the right; the other side has what is probably the arms of Lyon: a lion rampant, in chief (three fleurs-de-lis). Dimensions: 14.2mm diameter, 2.7mm thick. Weight: 2.61g. This seal was probably attached to silk imported from Lyon.
