Record ID: KENT-003F45
Object type: KNIFE
Broad period: MEDIEVAL
County: Kent
Workflow stage: Published
Copper alloy knife handle with bone inlay panels and acorn hilt decoration. The knife probably originally consisted of a steel blade (now missing) sandwiched between the two copper alloy pieces of the handle. It does not appear to have been a folding knife. The acorn motifs suggest a late 14th to 15th century date, as similar designs appear on spoon handles of that period. Compare
