A complete Early-Mid Roman, struck or hammered, copper alloy - bronze, sestertius of unknown Emperor. Obverse: Extreme corrosion - no details. Inscription: Illegible. Reverse: Extreme corrosion - no details. Inscription: Illegible. The coin has extreme wear and is in poor condition. It is very corroded with a matt, slightly irregular eroded pale green surface. Roughly half the coin has a raised, matt, pale brown area, this is probably due to being found in water logged ground conditions. This coin is likely to date to 43-250AD. Ref. A complete, Early-Mid Roman, struck or hammered, copper alloy - bronze sestertius of unknown Emperor. Obverse: Possible vague head outline. Inscription: Illegible. Reverse: Too corroded to identify. Inscription: Illegible. The coin is relatively circular in shape just a few slight irregularities. It is in extremely worn, poor condition and in an eroded/corroded state. An extremely worn copper alloy Roman coin, probably a Sestercius of Hadrian (117-138 AD). Only a faint outline of a laureate bust on the obverse remains; it is possible to see traces of a female standing figure on the reverse. Nothing of either legend remains. For a possible parallel example on the PAS database, cf. BERK-29C8F4.
