Possibly a wrought iron socketed sickle fragment dating from the Earliest Iron Age, that is c. 800-600BC. It would have been part of the Early Iron Age Llyn Fawr metalwork assemblage and contemporary with early iron spearheads, wrought iron socketed axes, copper-alloy socketed axes of Sompting and related types and Hallstatt razors.The fragment is very worn and the surface on both obverse and reverse is pitted and flaky and in need of conservation.
