A group of 9 or 10 microburins from a 2 hectare field amongst a total of 850 worked flint fragments including waste and utilised pieces and tools. The flints have individual GPS records to a few metres accuracy which form a cluster extending beyond but centred in the field close to a brook at the edge of its flat alluvial plain and slightly above. The flints form a broad funnel to a crossing point and continue less frequently on the other side. An incomplete Late Mesolithic to Early Neolithic flint pick (c. 6500 BC-c. 2100 BC). This is about 50% of the implement and is the butt end. It is sub-triangular in plan and cross-section and has been knapped overall except for a small area of cortex. There are several natural cavities on one face. The surfaces, including the break, are dark grey with off-white mottling. Length: 92.02mm; width: 50.32mm; thickness: 39.57mm. Weight: 175.87. Although the implement was found within the inter-tidal zone, the arrises are sharp and there is no marine growth.

Middle section of a tertiary knapped flint blade. The blade is trapezoid in section with parallel arises running down the length of the dorsal face. This along with the direction of the percussion ripples on the dorsal and ventral face suggest multiple blades were removed from the same platform. A knapped flint scraper of probable Mesolithic date, c 8,300-3,500 BC. The scraper is sub-rectangular in plan and section. One face has three long facets, but only one edge demonstrates any evidence of retouch, and evidence for abrasion along this edge suggest the scraper was used prior to its loss. The flint is milky white in colour with grey nodules.

A light brown cortex remains on one face of the object. A few chips are missing from the long edge with no cortex however it is uncertain whether these are deliberate due to their coarseness. The implement has been made from toffee brown coloured flint and is probably a waste flake.

Two long flakes have been removed to create the upper (dorsal) face of the object on which small ripples can be seen. Each long edge of the object has been lightly retouched with fine serrations and it was therefore probably used as an implement. The implement has been made from mid-grey flint.

A flint multi functional tool, a burin and cutting edge formed on a primary flake of tan coloured flint. The dorsal face is covered with cortex except where the working has removed it at the distal end. The right side has semi abrupt retouch along it to form a knife. More invasive retouch at the distal end forms the burin point. The proximal end is snapped. The flint is not patinated. It is Mesolithic in date probably.
