Copper alloy penannular brooch of Dickinson's Group G1.7 (Dickinson 1982, 49, Fig. 4. The ring is round sectioned and undecorated with two flattened, lozenge shaped terminals each of which bears an incised ring on one face. A complete glass bead of uncertain date. The bead is circular in plan with a central circular perforation. The glass is a dark blue colour and survives in good condition. The bead is 22.9mm in diameter, 11.8mm thick and weighs 7.2g. Glass beads are very difficult to date with any certainty therefore due to a lack of contextual evidence and any diagnostic features it is not possible to date this object any more closely and it could be Roman through to post-medieval in date.
