A copper alloy Byzantine anonymous follis, Class B, attributed to Romanus III (AD 1028-1034) or Michael IV (AD 1034-1041), possibly dating to the period c.AD 1030-1042. Obverse: [+ƐΜΜΑ NOVHΛ], Bust of Christ facing, bearded, with cross nimbus, wearing a tunic and himation, right hand raisedin blessing, left hand holding book. In field [IC-XC]. Reverse: IS XS/bAS IL[Ɛ]/bAS IL[Ɛ], A cross on base and two steps, pellet at each end of upper arms. Mint of Constantinople. As Dumbarton Oaks III, p. 676-677.
