A cast Medieval to early Post-Medieval copper-alloy single loop rectangular buckle frame, dating to c.AD 1400-1700. Description: The copper alloy frame has uniform dimensions on each side. All edges are slightly bevelled on the upper and lower faces. There is a slight notch on the shorter (bar). The frame has a mid-brown coloured patina. The pin is missing.    Measurements: Length: 29.97 - 28.9 mm; Width: 17.96 mm; Thickness: 3.15 mm and Weight: 4.75 g. A complete copper-alloy medieval seal matrix. The matrix is disc-shaped with a seam running across the centre of the reverse from which a suspension loop develops to one side (now almost entirely missing). The outer face (die) is decorated with the central engraved design of a male and female head facing each other kissing and an outer engraved inscription, which is now too worn and damaged to be ready clearly. A complete lead spindle whorl of uncertain date. It is plano-convex in shape with a convex upper surface and a flat base. It is sub circular in shape with a central circular hole of internal diameter 9.2mm. The weight is 23.40mm in diameter and is 11.8mm thick. It weighs 34.68g. It has a light gray/white patina and is decorated with low bosses.  Objects such as these were used for a long period of time for a variety of functions with little change in form.

An incomplete copper-alloy Roman Colchester derivative rear hook bow brooch. It is missing the spring, pin and lower bow/ catchplate due to old breaks. The wings are semi-cylindrical in form, separated by an integrally cast rear facing hook. The bow is D-shaped in section, tapering to a pointed foot that is missing its tip due to old breaks. It has decoration on its front face comprising a central vertical rib that runs from rear hook to foot and grooves along the edges of the bow.  It measures 29mm in length, 21.9mm in width at wings, and 5g in weight. A probable Medieval copper-alloy harness pendant dating to circa AD 1200-1400. Plano-convex in section, the piece consists of five - broadly tear-shaped - lobes representing petals arranged in a 2-2-1 formation. At the apex is a transverse projecting collar set below a D-shaped suspension lug. The reverse is plain. The front face retains significant traces of gilding. It has a brown-green patina.  No precise parallel can be found on the database. The frame is undecorated and the pin is missing. Measurements: Length: 20.72 mm; Width: 13.7 mm; Thickness: 4.11 mm and Weight: 2.28 g. An incomplete lead alloy (pewter / tombac) two-part shoe or knee buckle of post medieval date c. AD 1660-1720. The buckle frame is broadly sub-rectangular with rounded corners and D-shaped in cross section. The frame is drilled at the mid point for a separate spindle, which is now missing, along with the pin and chape. A complete copper-alloy Medieval enamelled harness pendant. It is quatrefoil in shape, the outer edge conprising four rounded lobes, each with a small projection between. The outer face of each lobe is decorated with three raised petals as in the upper section of a fleur-de-lis.
