A corroded Post Medieval-Modern iron single loop trapezoidal buckle, c.AD 1750-1970. This buckle is complete and consists of a trapezoidal frame and an iron pin which has a raised ridge near the frame. This ridge or 'grip' was probably to allow more pressure to be applied to the pin when undoing or doing up the buckle. The strap (and pin) bar is the longer of the two unequal edges. The shorter edge retains a sheet iron roller.
