An incomplete cast copper-alloy Medieval buckle frame and plate. The buckle frame resembles a Meols type 2, D shaped buckle, dating to AD 1250-1350. The frame has a flat, expanded outer edge, with engraved transverse grooves. The frame has a narrowed and offset bar with an in-situ copper-alloy pin.  The buckle plate is square with four in-situ copper-alloy rivets and one hole where the rivet would have been. An incomplete Medieval copper-alloy buckle plate. It is a rectangular shaped plate with a small circular hole through the bottom right corner, the upper right corner has remains of an in-situ copper-alloy rivet. The inner edge has the remains of two attachment loops projecting from the centre.The outer face is decorated with a possible dragon with wings spreading out the the upper corner.  It has a brown-green patina.

A complete cast copper-alloy medieval buckle dating to 13th-14th century AD. Cassels buckle type 1.3J. Meols Type 10. The buckle is oval and convex with two rounded outward-angled projections on the outside edge. Between the two knops the outside edge has moulded decoration of four raised circumferential bands spaced equally. The frame has an offset bar and at both ends of the bar is a globular projection. A complete copper-alloy single loop buckle with the pin in situ , although the pin is incomplete, of probable Medieval to Post-Medieval date. It is triangular in shape, with a semi-circular cross section in the frame. The reverse is plain, however, there is evidence of white metal coating and incised groves. At the point of the triangle, there is a pin rest notch, on the inside of the frame. The object has a brown / green patina. A complete Medieval copper-alloy Medieval buckle dating to circa AD 1250-1350. It is a comprised of a single rectangular looped frame. The frame is rectangular sectioned. The outer edge carries a separately made copper alloy roller in which the externally made pin rests. The pin is wrapped around the bar and tapers into a point. It is rectangular sectioned. The buckle is consistent with Meols Type 12 (Griffiths, Philpott and Egan 2006). Length: 16.5mm; Width: 17.4mm; Thickness: 5.3mm; Weight: 3.88g.

A late Medieval cast copper-alloy annular buckle with an incomplete pin dating to c.1250-1450. Flattened circular frame, with a pin simply wrapped around and able to traverse completely around it. The pin is missing the tip and is formed from flat copper-alloy strip with the reverse having 'turned up' sides to increase rigidity strength. Both buckle and pin display an even green patina. Diameter 25.1mm, thickness 2.1mm, weight 3.4g. See, Whitehead (2003) No.38 and see similar examples on this database at: KENT-9ADC2D, SWYOR-32E805 and IOW-21E5B7.

An incomplete  copper-alloy buckle plate. The object is formed from a long strip folded in two, the outer section much longer and wider than the reverse, which is corroded. Square notches have been cut in the centre and to either side of the fold creating a gap for now missing pin, although iron corrosion can be seen. There is a small circular hole through each corner and the centre containing in situ copper alloy rivets, with one missing. The plates is formed of two sheets of copper alloy which would have been joined together by rivets.
