A complete Medieval copper-alloy and gilded spur buckle with an integral plate (c. 1200-c. 1400). This buckle is moulded at the front and largely flat on the reverse. The rectangular frame measures c. 20.5mm in length and 22.0mm in width. The outside edge is enlarged and has a circular knop or pellet at each outer corner on the front. A medieval cast copper alloy single loop spur buckle with an integral plate c.1250-1400. The loop is oval with a straight outer top edge that has knops on either side. There are two smaller knops at the base of the oval loop adjacent to where the plate starts. The plate is triangular with a narrowing half way down and terminates in a rounded point. There are two rivet holes in the plate just below the loop, one being empty and the other retains a copper alloy rivet. Traces of gilding remaining on parts of the face. Length 26.6mm, width 12.1mm and weight 2.4g.

An incomplete copper-alloy probably Medieval buckle, dating to AD 1200-1500. It is the pin of the buckle. The shaft has a sub-rectangular shape in plan and sub-rectangular cross-section; it tapers towards the slighlty rounded tip. The shaft is curved at its centre and close to the tip, suggesting the use of the object. At the other end has a broken possibly oval loop; the loop frame has a sub-trapezoidal cross-section and is thicker than the shaft. The latter is heavily abraded and bears a deep longitudinal groove on one edge, probably made during the casting process. Length: 52.26 mm

The frame, on the outer edge at the apex, has a small triangular integral protrusion with a notch for the pin. The upper surface of the frame is sub-D-shaped in section. A complete copper-alloy buckle of Post-Medieval date, c. AD 1720 - 1790. The buckle is a sub-rectangular knee buckle with a drilled frame to house a separate spindle. The spindle has two spiked projecting tongues extending to the outer frame. The metal has a dark brown patina and is worn. The buckle is 18.8mm long, 16.5mm wide, 3. 7mm thick and weighs 2.3g. On the outer frame a single collared knop projects from the centre. The pin bar is recessed, and has a casting spur either side on the frame. These are triangular shaped projections. The pin bar is oval in cross section. It has a dark green patina, and measures 26.1mm in length, 17.5mm in width, and 4.15g in weight. A similar buckle can be seen in Whitehead 1996, page 21 number 85.

The buckle has a dark brown patina, and measures 43.7mm in length, 44.3mm in width, and weighs 12.61g. The buckle is similar to Whitehead 1996, page 78, number 479.
