Thickly concreted sandy material adheres, possibly a result of burning or from the decay of an iron fitting. An incomplete Medieval copper-alloy composite buckle with an integral forked spacer and separate copper-alloy sheet plates (c. 1350-c. 1450). The loop is similar to a a Meols Type 4. The pin is missing. The oval frame measures c. 19.5mm in length, 22.0mm in width and 2.2mm in thickness. It is bevelled at the front externally and is flat at the rear with limited bevelling internally. It has a triangular lip at the outside edge. Copper-alloy single-looped sub-rectangular buckle of post-medieval date (c. 1500 - 1600 AD), missing its pin. The buckle has a rounded front with a pointed lip and sides that curve in. The frame is flat and rectangular in section and set at an angle. The object has a light-brown patina. It is 35.80mm in length, 31.61mm in width and 3.34mm in thickness. It weighs 3.87g. There is a close parallel recorded in Whitehead (2003), Buckles, p. 28, no. 145, which has provided the date range given to this example.

An incomplete Medieval to post-Medieval copper-alloy double-looped buckle (c. 1350-c. 1650). The pin and most of one loop are missing. The frame is convex at the front and flat at the rear. The narrowed bar is sub-triangular in cross-section. This frame is corroded and light green. Length: 14.0mm; width: 17.7mm; thickness: 1.4mm. Weight: 0.76g. Copper alloy buckle. A buckle plate comprising a folded and slotted straight-sided strip of thickness 0.7mm, slightly wider on the display side and now lost at its fold. A pair of dome headed rivets of head diameter 2.5mm and length 4.8mm passed through the inner [as worn] corners of the plate. Medieval (c.1350-1400) buckle: The copper alloy frame is a single loop sub-oval with a slightly off-set strap bar, and an expanded bar opposite the strap bar. This bar has a notch and three bulbous transverse ridges with either side. The sides of the frame are convex on the exterior and concave on the interior. The surface of the buckle frame has an abraded dark brown surface. It measures 15.18mm in length, 19.07mm wide and weighs 1.26g. Medieval to Post Medieval (mid 14th to mid 17th century) incomplete annular buckle frame: The copper alloy frame has a narrowed, triangular strap bar bisecting the frame. The frame is also sub quarter-circular in section. The pin is missing. The surface of the frame is has a well-developed mid green patina.
