A fragment of a Medieval copper alloy vessel foot from a cooking or serving pot, dating perhaps to c AD 1250 - 1500. What is extant is the flat trapezoidal base of the foot and a very short section of the leg, above which is an early break. The leg itself rises from the base at an angle, towards the body of the pot and is a flattish oval in section. This flares out over the base in a paw-like shape and it has three, possibly four 'toes', one largely missing to an old break.  Dimensions: 25.6mm in height; 46.5mm in width; 95.38g in weight cf Egan (1998:164, 166) no 460

A fragment of a Post Medieval copper alloy vessel, a cooking or serving pot, possibly part of a leg, or leg repair, dating  to c AD 1500 - 1800. It is a robust strip of metal, sub  rectangular, with apparently roughly worked flanges down the long sides, probably to provide stability. There is an early transverse break at the top while the foot was perhaps cut across the width, then forged, adding a lip,  to give the right angle to the ground. It is rather unfettled with a rough surface, particularly on the inside, flanged, face, discoloured and it shows signs of…

Four bodysherds and two rim sherds of greyware dating to the Roman period c AD 43-402.  The sherds are oxisided and all are reddish orange although one sherd appears to have a grey slip on the outer surface.   The size of the sherds means that it is not possible to identify the form of the vessel types, although the rim sherds may be from an upright bowl.
