An incomplete copper alloy Roman gilded oval plate brooch inset with intaglio of black glass, dating to c. A probably Post Medieval to Modern short section of cylindrical copper alloy rod of unknown function. The find shows an early break at one end and a terminal that has the appearance of a nail head bent down to meet the rod but this is, in fact, soldered down, or was moulded in this this way. The bent head is scored, perhaps decoratively, at the front where it meets the rod, with five indentations, matched by three more on the lower face of the opposite side. A complete Medieval copper alloy casket key, dating to c AD 1100 - 1500. It has a circular bow (a little misshapen, probably from the mould) with circular piercing but which retains 'flashing' from the casting process and may have been drilled with its smaller circular hole after manufacture.  The stem is sub rectangular and hollow with no visible collar. A simple rectangular bit shows no clefts or ward cuts. It was apparently originally broadly triangular in shape, the main plate cusped and scalloped along its edges, about one third missing to an early break. A complete Post-Medieval copper-alloy Crotal Bell, dating to AD 1550-1750. The bell is made from two hemispheres divided by a raised horizontal circumferential rib. Within the upper hemisphere, there are two sound holes on each side that are the same size, at the top there is a rectangular suspension loop. The lower hemisphere is perforated by two circular sound holes close to the ridge between which is a rectangular sound slot. The bell is plain in design. Measurements: Diameter 26mm; Height 32.5mm; Weight 18.47g. Similar finds can be seen on BERK-f7DC85.
