A copper-alloy Roman dupondius of Nero (AD 54-68), dating to the period c.AD 64 (Reece period 3). VICTORIA AVGVSTI, S C reverse type depicting Victory advancing left holding wreath and palm. Probably mint of Rome. cf. RIC I (2nd ed.) p. 163, no. 196. The style of the coin is very similar to one from Rome in the British Museum (BMC I, pl. 44, no. 2).
The surfaces are worn and corroded. It measures 30.3mm in diameter, 4mm thick and weighs 13.55g.
