A fragment of a Post Medieval strap fitting, perhaps from a sword belt mount, c. 1500-1700 AD. The fragment consists of a circular fitting end with a sub-rectangular hole and an attached circular suspension loop; the rest of the object, including the rivet-end is missing. It measures 19.48 mm long, 23.89 mm wide, 3.13 mm thick and weighs 2.5 grams. For a similar example see lower part of the example from East Devon in Read 2001, 'Metal Artifacts of Antiquity', p43 no. 372. Cf. also PAS records: NMS-f7b681 and HAMP-494402.

A cast copper alloy strap mount. In plan the mount has an oval shaped body with an integral sub-oval knop at either end. Each knop has a rivet hole which has the remains of a copper alloy rivet in one. The mount is decorated with a block of transverse grooves on the body. The body and knops are domed in profile. The reverse of the body and knops are hollow. The surface of the mount has a dark green/grey patina. The mount measures 22.6mm long, 11.85mm wide and 3.47mm thick. It weighs 1.9g. A fragment of the male half of a Post Medieval copper alloy toggle clasp. The clasp was originally symmetrical about its long axis. The plate has a small central hole with remnants of iron corrosion from the original attachment. On either side of the small central hole there are two angular knops with an inward scalloped area in between. A cast copper-alloy bar mount (strap-fitting) of medieval date, c. 14th century. The mount has three consecutive lobes with the copper-alloy rivets still attached to the outer lobes. Part of a copper alloy openwork object, probably an Early Medieval strap fitting dating from the 11th century. The plate is sub rectangular in plan. It has a thickened edge at one end, and from the centre of this edge projects a rounded knop, which is probably complete. The sides of the plate are bi concave and sinuous. An incomplete cast copper alloy strap slider of medieval date. The strap slider is curvilinear and undecorated. From the reverse two rectangular projections extend which would have formed the strap bar through which the belt would once have fitted. The bar is now incomplete with worn breaks. The reverse is undecorated. The metal is a mid brownish-green colour and is worn. The strap slider is 27.6mm long, 12.5mm wide, 11.1mm thick and weighs 3.2g.

A cast copper-alloy strap mount of post-Medieval date. The symmetrical mount has an oval centre, with flat underside and convex upper surface. Pointed knops project from the top and bottom ends of this oval, respectively. On the reverse are two integral rivets.One of these rivets has been truncated in antiquity, the other has been bent over. A similar item can be found in Read 2001, p. 34, no 286.

A copper-alloy belt or strap fitting of probable post-medieval date. The fitting is single looped, D shaped in section and lozenge shaped in cross section. The curved part of the frame expands in the centre to form a rivet hole for attachment, although the rivet is now missing. The patina is green to a purple brown in colour. It measures 16.98 mm long, 9.14 mm wide, 4.75 mm thick and weighs 1.1 grams.

A Medieval cast copper-alloy swivel strap fitting (c. 1100-c. 1400). This object is one half of a swivel fitting which would originally have consisted of two D-shaped loops, one with a pin and one with a socket, fitted together such that the loops can be swivelled on the pin. Post Medieval cast copper alloy sword belt fitting. It is subtrianfular in plan with a hooked terminal extending from the apex of the triangle. There are two semi-circular knops on the lower edge. There are two rivet holes in the main body, one of which has the corroded remains of a rivet. It is 30.33mm long, 12.25mm wide, 2.38mm thick increasing to 7.09mm thick to include the hooked terminal. It weighs 2.24 grams.
