A silver denarius of Elagabalus dating to the period AD 218 to 222 (Reece period 10). INVICTVS SACERDOS AVG reverse type depicting Elagabalus standing left sacrificing over tripod, holding patera and branch. RIC IV, Pt II, p. 34, no. 88.
There are superficial scratch marks on the obverse and reverse of this coin, particularly in the area of the portrait of Elagabalus. It is possible that they are ancient. However, it is equally possible that they are the result of attempted cleaning with an abrasive tool.
