Post-medieval copper alloy strap fitting, possibly from a sword belt, of similar form to part of a clasp, the toggle or male part, the form and the decoration very close to Read 2008, no. 761 (from North Dorset). However, it is shorter with two opposed concave cut-outs, the discoidal terminal is not offset forward from the face, and there is a single iron rivet, at the broad trefoil-shaped end. Cf. two very similar examples, SUR-378071 and NMS-58BCB6. Length 27mm. Width 15.7mm. Mid 16th - mid 17th century.
