An incomplete  Medieval copper-alloy cross pattee, probably originally a pendant, dating to around AD 1200 - 1400.  The surviving element consists of three arms of a cross pattee and is flat in cross section. Each arm flares towards the outer end and is undecorated except for traces of gilding on the front face.  One arm is missing leaving a short stub. It has a central rivet hole for a missing applied central element, and has traces of silvering. It has a hinged pin, which is often a feature of Continental plate brooches. A fragment probably of a Post-Medieval copper alloy crotal bell, dating to AD 1500 - 1700. The fragment consists of an uneven four sided convex piece of copper alloy that would have formed part of one half of a spherical shaped bell which usually had two holes connected by a slit in the lower half and a suspension loop on the upper half. A sheet copper-alloy bell of Medieval date, about AD 1200 - 1400. The form of this piece suggests it may have been a horse harness pendant (cf. Griffiths 1986: 4, no. 20 cited in BH-95B355).  The bell chamber is made from a piece of sheet metal which has had its corners folded inwards, creating a void in which the 'pea' is enclosed. A copper-alloy Roman brooch of Mackreth Type British Plate 3.b.1 dating from AD 80 - 250. The brooch is oval in plan and has a central zone with a raised edge. The zone is now empty and would have contained enamel or a glass inset. The outer zone is gilded and was probably stamped. The back is plain and retains a single lug for the missing, probably sprung, pin. A lug opposite is al that remains of the catchplate. Measurements; Length 25.8mm, width 21.0mm, thickness 6.2mm, and weight 4.2g. See Mackreth number 10842 on page 161 and plate 107.
