1) Two bladelets average size length 20mm, width 10mm, thickness 4mm. Both have one arise on the dorsal and a small bulb on the ventral, both are truncated with the distal end missing. Both have creamy patina and date to the Late Mesolithic. 2) Miscellaneous retouch on a flake length 27mm, width 21mm, thickness 7mm. The distal has been truncated, short, inverse low angled retouch on the butt. Edge-gloss on the left blade, this may be a silica gloss which was deposited on the blade from the cutting of fresh plants. Grey flint with a patina at one end, this artefact possibly dat…

Flint single-platform microlith blade core, triangular in plan, oval in section and trapezoidal in profile. The core has had blades taken off it on only two thirds of the way around its central axis, with a layer of cortex running from one third of the edge of the platform down to the base of the core. The flint is a translucent brown-grey colour and the curvature of the core suggests that it was made from a local beach pebble. The length to breadth ratio is 4:5, which is usual for micro-cores. Bond (2004) illustrates similar examples on page 120, Fig.5.104, No.82, which is dated…

Two Mesolithic (c.8300-3500 BC) flint implements. The larger flake, on the right in the photograph, is the retouched tip of a blade implement that has been broken at some point in the past. The flint measures 20.28mm in length, 16.97mm in width, is 3.51mm thick and weighs 1.56g. The smaller flake, on the left in the photograph, is a 'piercer'. There is evidence of retouching along the edges. It has been formed from a flake that was primarily a bladelet blank. The flint measures 15.71mm in length, is 13.66mm wide, has a thickness of 2.8mm and weighs 0.71g.
