Front sheet plate of a medieval copper alloy tongue-shaped strap end with a rivet near the attachment edge and with an angled inside edge. Engraved decoration consists of a double-line edge-to-edge zig-zag over the full length and a line along one side. The single rivet and the presence of solder on the reverse indicate that the complete object would have incorporated a forked spacer. Length 28mm. Width 7mm. 14th century.

Cast copper alloy composite strap end length 39mm, width 14mm, thickness 4mm, weight 5.74g. This is made form two sheets of copper alloy with a forked spacer in between. The overall shape is rectangular with a pointed forward edge, and an acorn knop at the tip and a circular notch at the attachment end. That face is decorated with an incised zigzag line. Date 13th-15th century.

A cast copper alloy hinged plate from a medieval two-piece strap-end. The plate consists of a single, narrow piece of plate metal folded to form a loop at the terminal end. A rivet hole is visible at the atatchment edge and the front of the plate has incised decoration, the form of which is hidden by corrosion and dirt. In common with other medieval gilded metals, traces of a red substrate are visible on this object, and flecks of gold leaf are visible when the object is viewed using a microscope. Complete copper alloy cast strap end, medieval in date (c AD1250-1400). The strap end consists of two sheets of copper joined together by a small rivet, still intact at the top of the strap end. The strap end is sub rectangular in plan, with a decorative terminal. The terminal is shouldered, with an oval shape topped with a trefoil. The neck of the terminal is snapped on one side of the strap end. The main body of the strap end is bent. A small rivet survives through the terminal end. The body of the strap end is undecorated and is in fair condition with a patchy mid green patina.

A copper-alloy nail-cleaner strap-end which would probably have performed both roles. The main body is made form a lozenge shaped plate with an elongated lower point that has a V-shape notched terminal, this has been decorated with a ring and dot in the centre. On the top edge are two opposing crescents with an inverted triangular plate above, both of which have a ring and dot in the centre. An incomplete copper alloy strap end of late Medieval date (AD 1066-1500). The strap end is possible a two piece type, with a linear body which terminates in a large knop, the other end terminated in an old break. It is decorated with a repeating integrally cast circular concave pattern, the centre of the knop contains the remains of a single iron rivet have corroded over the surface of both the front and back of the strap end. The metal is a mid green with brown iron corrosion over a portion.
