Small vertebra: length: 71.0mm; width: 69.6mm; thickness: 51.0mm. Weight: 30.84g. Large vertebra: length: 101.0mm; width: 63.7mm; thickness: 64.2mm. Weight: 82.92g. Long bone: length: 172.5mm; width: 6.3mm; thickness: 47.0mm. Weight: 131.58g. Surface finds in silt within the inter-tidal zone.

An incomplete Roman (possibly) horse mandible (c. AD 43-410). This mandible is from a small young male horse over four and a half years old. Five incisors and the second premolar on the right side are missing. The condylar process is incomplete on both sides and the mental protruberance is also incomplete. This mandible was found partially protruding from silt in the inter-tidal zone. See differential preservation around the angle of the mandible. Length: 362.0mm; width: 146mm; thickness: 148.0mm. Weight: 845.0g.

A large and complete animal molar tooth of Unknown date. This tooth has four root elements and a crown. There seems to be some wear on the crown. A worked antler tine of Medieval, twelfth century date (AD 1100 – AD 1200). Length: 184.0mm; maximum diameter: 24.0mm. Weight: 80.77g. The tine, an extension of the beam, is curved throughout its length and is sub-circular in cross-section. The point of detachment at the proximal end is very abraded and has a maximum diameter of 24.0mm. Spongy mineral forms the inner core at this end. From the proximal end the tine tapers to an abraded point. The ‘gutters’ (irregular longitudinal grooves) and ‘pearling’ (the knobbly surface of the tine) are barely visible due to abrasion. Par…
