A complete Medieval silver penny of Edward I (1272-1307), minted at Bury St Edmunds. Class 10ab, 1300-1305 (North 1991: 32, refs: 1038-1039). Obverse: EDWAR R ANGL DNS hYB; Crowned bust facing with a bifoliate crown and wedged drapery. Reverse: VILL/SCIE/DMV/NDI; Long cross dividing the inscription with three pellets in each quadrant. Diameter: 19.0mm. Weight: 1.29g. DA=12:5. North, J.J. 1991. English Hammered Coinage, Volume II, Edward I to Charles II, 1272-1662. Spink & Son, London.
