A complete and worn post-Medieval copper-alloy spherical animal 'crotal' bell (1600-1800). The sub-rectangular suspension loop at the top is about 12.0mm long, 13.0mm wide, 5.9mm thick and has a circular drilled aperture. The suspension loop is misaligned with the plane of the body. There are file marks on both faces of the suspension loop. The upper and lower hemispheres are divided by a prominent horizontal circumferential joining rib. The object is composed of three integral parts, a domed plate with a circular attachment loop at one end and a rectangular attachment loop at the other end. Viewed from the side, each loop measures about 23.0mm x 13.5mm and has a thickness of about 3.0mm. Both loops are sub-rectangular in cross-section.
